Theatre at the Mount is seeking actors for its fall production.  

This stylish, suspense-filled adaptation brings Christie’s iconic mystery to life as Hercule Poirot boards the luxurious Orient Express—only to find himself unraveling a murder where every passenger is a suspect.  

With old-school glamour, sharp wit, and thrilling twists, this production promises an unforgettable theatrical ride.

REHEARSALS

  • Tentative Rehearsal Schedule: Sundays 6:00pm until 9:00pm; Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00pm until 10:00pm
  • Read-through at the end of July; rehearsals begin tentatively August 18

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS    

  • Hercule Poirot (40s-60s): A famous Belgian detective; authoritative, witty, charismatic, and slightly pompous, with a strong moral sense and high intelligence. FRENCH/BELGIAN ACCENT
  • Monsieur Bouc (30s-60s): A Belgian gentleman, director of the Wagon Lit, and a good friend to Poirot; playful, generous, energetic, and a source of comic relief. FRENCH/BELGIAN ACCENT
  • Helen Hubbard (40s-70s): A jovial, obnoxious, and outspoken American from the Midwest; she is loud, nosy, flamboyant, and unapologetic. MINNESOTA ACCENT
  • Mary Debenham (20s-30s): An English governess who is cool, anxious, and determined. She is intelligent and has a hidden, sad background. ENGLISH ACCENT
  • Samuel Ratchett (30s-50s): An evil, brusque, and domineering American businessman; dangerous and unlikable, with a hair-trigger temper. SCOTTISH ACCENT.  DOUBLES WITH THE COLONEL
  • Colonel Arbuthnot: A handsome, middle-aged Scotsman; straightforward, occasionally tender, and carries a secret affair. AMERICAN ACCENT.
  • Princess Dragomiroff (40s-70s): An aging, formal, and imperial Russian dowager; commanding, imposing, and impatient. RUSSIAN ACCENT
  • Greta Ohlsson (20s-60s): A devout, shy Swedish missionary with a sheep-like quality; she is frightened and frequently comedic. SWEDISH ACCENT
  • Countess Andrenyi (30s-50s): A brilliantly beautiful Hungarian woman; delicate in appearance but sharp and intelligent (not a wilting flower). HUNGARIAN ACCENT
  • Hector MacQueen (20s-50s): Ratchett’s personal secretary; anxious, nervous, and frequently flustered, but organized. AMERICAN ACCENT
  • Michel the Conductor (20s-50s): A good-looking, professional French conductor; grave, kind, and handles himself well in a crisis. FRENCH ACCENT
  • Head Waiter: DOUBLES WITH MICHAEL. TURKISH ACCENT
