Please prepare a short vocal selection in the style of the show that shows your abilities and range (bring sheet music if selection is not from the show).
An accompanist will be provided.
Expect cold-readings from the script.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Tina Denmark (9-13; tap dance proficiently) A “triple threat”, sickeningly sweet but underneath, a remorseless psychopath. She believes she was “born to play Pippi Longstocking.” Vocal range: F# below middle C to E one octave above middle C.
Judy Denmark / Ginger Del Marco (28-40) Tina’s mother, a June Cleaver-type housewife, who is transformed into Ginger, a Norma Desmond-type Broadway diva. Vocal range: F below middle C to B Flat one octave above middle C.
Sylvia St. Croix (30’s- 50’s) The stereotypical “in-your-face” talent manager who nurses aspirations of stardom and is obsessed with making Tina a star. Vocal range: A one octave below middle C to E above middle C.
Lita Encore (50’s) Judy’s adoptive mother and opinionated theater critic who hates musicals. An Ethel Merman-type. Vocal range: E below middle C to D one octave above middle C.
Myrna Thorne/ Reporter (25-50) A wannabe actress who had to settle for teaching Tina’s 3rd grade, she is the director of the school play. Vocal range: E below middle C to B above middle C.
Louise Lerman/Eve (cast as adult, 20’s-40’s) Louise is the untalented 3rd grader cast as Pippi Longstocking. Eve is Ginger’s personal assistant who has designs on becoming her understudy and eventually replacing her as the star. Vocal range: F# below middle C to C above middle C.
ABOUT THE SHOW
"RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL" is the story of a naïve 1950s housewife, Judy, and her adorable but sociopath 8-year-old daughter Tina.
Encouraged by her manager, Sylvia, Tina will do ANYTHING to get the lead role in her school play “including murdering the leading lady!"
In Act II, while Tina spends time at a reform school for psychopathic ingenues, Judy discovers from her adoptive mother that her birth mother was a famous actress.
Judy decides that she should be famous as well and becomes a Broadway diva.
